I have the stupid question.

What about this CPU on my dv6000?

https://www.x86-guide.net/en/cpu/AMD-Athlon-X2-QL-62-cpu-no4467.html

I found it for a cheap price on our auction server

Unfortunately, I don't know.

It has a different socket type than the TL-60 which is a Socket S1 (S1g1).

The Athlon processor you posted has a Socket S1 (S1g2).

I don't know if that makes a difference, but unless you want to take a gamble on it anyway, I wouldn't expect it to work.

Oh, I see. In this specification there Is written really s1g2.

But I saw somewhere only the socket S1, for example here:

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+Athlon+64+X2+QL-62&id=44

But bus speed is very different, higher.

Hello.

I took the dv6000 apart. I have a few questions about the attached photos.
What is the graphics card? What is the Chipset and what is the missing square component that was normally connected to the common cooling system in the dv6700?
Here you can see that the socket is marked S1, how can I tell which socket it is without a service manual? So how do I actually know if I can also use a processor for the s1g2 socket? Are the sockets the same or similar?

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to any of your questions, except what model graphics chip your notebook has.

Your notebook comes with the Nvidia GeForce 6150 GPU.

Sure, it doesn't matter, it's not important.
But now I found it on this page:
https://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17467

Here I found that this processor in the S1 - s1g1 socket should also work:
https://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Turion%2064%20X2%20Mobile%20technology%20TL-68%20-%20TMDTL68HA...
AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-68 specifications

Is it possible?
Bus speed 800 MHz

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know.

I am not familiar with AMD processors, and I can only quote what will work from the service manual.

If it has the same basic specs (voltage, socket, FSB speed..) as the TL-60 then maybe it will work.

Sure, that's enough for me. I'll check all these parameters. It's probably worth a try, but it also depends on the price. Thanks.

You're very welcome.
