Hello,
I turn my laptop on and it says SMART Hard Disk failure.

I run the Diagnostic and it failed the smart check giving failure ID: U4G1VV-0008T8-QFPK0K-60FL03.

What I have to do now?

How I can fix it and recover my data?

Hi

If it can be fixed, then getting your Data of is most important.

You will need a new Hard Disk, and you can either try to connect both, new one internally and old one externally perhaps using a caddy.

Then copy/clone the old to the new, IF the old will spin up and become readable.

So you will need a new HDD, an OS to install on it.

Then if the old one is still in place a rescue disk and a media (USB stick) to copy it too.

Please tell us where you are in the process, and what you are able to do.

EG: HP recovery media, ordered new drive or whatever.

Make, Model and OS please.

If in doubt please ask.

I guess that all the answers about the hard disk failure pointing to one thing " replace the hard disk, get new one " !!!!!

Hi

Yep.

And if I knew what OS you had I could suggest howto recover your data, EG:

SELECT SECURE/LEGACY BOOT AS REQUIRED, & CHANGE THE BOOT SEQUENCE ALSO AS NEEDED.XCOPY for instance.
