I received the Hard Disk 1 (301) error message today when turning on my laptop. It says something along the lines of "the hard disk has detected an imminent failure".
I understand the need to replace hdd.
Can I upgrade it to solid state drive? Will it be compatible with g6-1365ea laptop?
where should I buy original HP hard drive or ssd for my laptop in uk (newcastle)

The SSD is physically the same on the outside as a hard drive. No different hardware needed just bolt the SSD into the caddy the same as the hdd was bolted in. RAM is the same. You may want to add more at the same time while you are in there but it is not necessary. Post back if you need help with the software part of the swap over to SSD. Which Windows version do you have? 10?

If you have access to another computer with internet and a usb port and an 8 gig or larger thumb drive you can download Windows 10 for free from the Microsoft Media Creation Tool site. It will install and activate without any need for a Key Code.
