HP Envy 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-da0000 (903S6AV)

Just bought a new HP laptop.

Never saw a keyboard like this.

Around L there are 3 signs. I already found the way to access some but not all:

> shift + Fn

< Fn

But how to access \ ?????

I see a few posts about this on the internet and no solutions.

Around = there is a sign to the right: ~. I tried Alt+= but that opens a box "enter your equation"

I have spent all day yesterday with the Dutch helpdesk. Conversation started at 10:00 and ended after 19:00 when they did not react anymore. In total I spent 3 days with them and each time had to re-enter the same information (which they could have checked themselves in the Whatsapp.

Today I decided to search in English - stupid I did not do that before.

I found the solution there.

The Combination is Fn+Alt gr+L

The guy that gave the solution was a programmer and found it absolutely insane that one needed 3 keys for the backslash.

He got is laptop replaced by another model.

This is my first HP - I always had Dell - and I must say that the Dutch HP helpdesk is totally worthless!

I have made a comment in Trustpilot and I see there are a lot of complaints about their helpdesk.

Thank god there are people like you to help.

As you know, Belgium is a multilingual country.

Which keyboard does the laptop have?

QWERTZ or QWERTY?

What is the installed keyboard language?

You have provided only the generic identification of your laptop. How about providing the specific by posting the System SKU that is in the system information dialogue?

HP has produced and brought to market more than a thousand different models of notebooks and desktop PCs over the years.

It is difficult to help you if we don't know the hardware configuration of the laptop that you own.

Method #1: If the notebook will boot into Windows, you can retrieve your Product Number by pressing Fn + Esc key.

Method #2: Press the power button and immediately tap the F10 key to invoke the BIOS. In the Main section, you will find the Product number or Product ID. Post that in your next reply in your thread.

Method #3: Press the power button and immediately tap the F2 key.

Method #4: If powering on is not an option, take a look at the bottom of the laptop for the label with the product name and product number. For a desktop PC, look at the rear for the label.

Do not include the serial number of your HP product when you identify as it is not needed.
If your laptop has HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI version 10.3.0.0, there is a System Information section that also has the Product ID.
We need that information, along with the installed Operating System information to help you.

It is the marked items I cannot open.

New issue : no ,connection for ethernet cable?????

Is this a new rule?

The request for identification was because I needed to know  the actual specific hardware configuration of your laptop.

That is a interesting keyboard.

I will have to ask HP internally where to find a guide on how to use the special keys.

I have always wondered why they have not been readily available.

It has been about 12-15 years since an Ethernet port that has  been common on anything but Enterprise (business) class laptops.

Since it is the weekend, please be patient while I ask for more information.

A colleague of mine, @IT_WinSec,  has suggested that these may work.

" \ is RIGHT-ALT (alt gr) and \

~ is RIGHT-ALT (alt gr) and ~ but also needs a SPACE."

I tried contacting the dutch helpdesk myself.

They asked all sort of things twice and finally did not answer.

Will try again later.
