You will get mic input if you attach a microphone to the jack. There is no other hardware microphone inside the laptop. Have you tried a simple recording app to see if the microphone you cannot find (I will not call it hidden) is actually picking up any sound?
I am still not understanding why you are disassembling your laptop to disable the microphone. It seems to be a pointless exercise and I am a little conflicted about helping because I see a disaster on the horizon here.

Yes, I just told you.. I unplugged the LEFT wire on the webcam
And now, the mic is still picking up audio somehow
When I tap the base of the laptop, it seems to be louder than even tapping the screen
This would suggest that there is actually a mic in the base, the bottom part of the laptop
No such mic is shown in the manual, so it's odd

Alright..
I figured it out
The headphones I have plugged in, also double as a mic.
They are one of these headsets you can get for phones, where it's headphones and a mic
So that's what it was
Haha
OK. Problem solved.

For the record I was 100% correct:
You will get mic input if you attach a microphone to the jack. There is no other hardware microphone inside the laptop.
And this has been about the weirdest and most unproductive interaction ever on the Forum. Ungrateful, pompous but we are glad to have helped.
