I have the same issue with my laptop that is not even 2 years old. The battery is severely bloated and has caused the bottom panel to separate and warp from the laptop. After tons of research it is almost impossible to find a genuine HP replacement battery. I want HP support to contact me with a viable solution to resolve this issue or I will be looking into legal options that involve a class action lawsuit in the very near future. It is absurd that HP knows of this problem and decided to do nothing about it. If I would have known about this issue I would have never purchased this laptop in the first place.

Having the same issue unfortunately. According test software my battery was recognized as OK except it was bloated with all symptoms described here. I have tried to check HP battery recall but my battery is fine according this. My warranty expired a month ago and it seems HP doesnt solve this at all. After such experience I do not think I will ever buy HP again!
I am somehow not able to add pictures so here are the links.

Just want to throw my hat in the ring. Same problem.
It would be nice if HP would at least acknowledge the problem and say they are working on a solution. Maybe certify a third party battery or provide a BIOS update that resolves the "Not a Genuine HP Battery" problem.

Same exact issue here as well and I contacted support with no response. This is obviously a widespread defect. With no updates from HP, I'm assuming we're all on our own to try and find suitable replacements?

My battery has also bloated for my HP Spectre x360 (15t-ch000) which I purchased in April 2018. Since HP does not sell any replacement batteries, I'm stuck with having to keep my laptop connected to a charger at all times.
The idea that my less than 3 year old laptop is hamstrung by a poor quality battery AND a lack of official replacement batteries is ridiculous to me. This situation makes me think, what if I had a swollen battery a day after my measly 1 year warranty ended? Do I just junk the laptop then too?
If HP doesn't want to offer replacement batteries, HP should release their battery specifications to another company for manufacturing and sale.

Just saw this thread after I created my other post, oh well.
HP Spectre x360 (15t-ch000) user here as well. Purchased January 2019 and already started seeing noticeable battery swelling which affected the touch pad and space bar (started seeing symptoms as early as October 2020). Like many others in this thread HP's built-in hardware checking functionality did not work to alert me of anything. Fortunately I caught this before it got especially bad and got it fixed at a local phone/electronics repair shop, but a non tech savvy user likely would not have caught this until it was already too late.
For a $1500 laptop this is incredibly disappointing and something that it seems like HP could easily remedy with better power management settings in the BIOS (limiting charging to 50 or 80% like they do on their business and gaming laptops, and like many of their competitors). Why normal consumer laptops get the short end of the stick here, even high end ones like the Spectre series, is beyond me. Even with the late 2020 BIOS update there have been no improvements here. The cynic in me says its because businesses have support contracts where HP will be taking the brunt of the cost instead.
Originally I purchased this laptop due to a previously good experience with HP. Sadly, if HP's poor battery management is not remedied, I cannot see myself purchasing any new HP products, nor can I see myself recommending them to family members looking for laptops, workstations, printers, etc. This is simply unacceptable.
(I understand the HP employees reading this have no direct say over this, just airing my experience/frustration so it can be passed along)
