Hi,
I just bought a HP Laptop 14s-fq0025nia, it only has one RAM slot. I was planning to upgrade it because it's so slow. Can i upgrade it to 16gb? and should I buy a 3200mhz or 2400mhz? currently it has a4 GB DDR4 2400 DIMM.
Thank you.

Hi:
The service manual indicates the max memory the slot can support is 1 x 8 GB.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
If you want to see if a 16 GB chip might work, you can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
If the report indicates you can install 16 GB of memory, you can install a 2400 MHz, 2666 MHz or 3200 MHz memory chip.
Your notebook's processor is only going to run the memory at 2400 MHz and the faster speed memory chips will automatically bridge to 2400 MHz.
This should be a compatible 16 GB 3200 MHz memory chip for your notebook:
