HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-ch0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-ch0xx is only 18 months old. The battery has swollen and caused the bottom case to distort and the screw housings holding the case to break, yet the battery is still operating at 100% capacity. In addition the trackpad, which I use exclusively for all of my illustration work, is no longer working properly. It is very hard to left or right click now: The edges of the spacebar no longer respond either and these are used often when you touch-type. I assume  these issues could be due to the distortion cased by the battery swelling as well. Has anyone experience these problems too?

I have sourced a new battery but I need to purchase a screw kit (L15597-001) and bottom cover (L15591-001) as well as a new rubber kit (as they fell off very quickly after original purchase (L15592-001)). Where is the best place to buy these in Australia? I am having trouble sourcing them online and the parts are expensive. The official HP parts store doesn't have the bottom cover.

I have to say I have loved this laptop up until now, however after all of this I am incredibly disappointed with the quality of the product. You pay a lot of money with the expectation of long-lasting quality. For the price I would have expected to get about 5 years from this laptop - perhaps with one battery replacement in that time. I think this product fails to meet consumer expectations and lifespan for price paid.  Now I have to pay hundreds to be able to continue using it.  Extremely disappointed.

I would be pleased to hear if others have experienced anything similar and how they have solved this?

Hi,

The parts can be really difficult to find.

I have flagged the post, so someone might intervene to help.
