Over the last week I’ve had multiple issues with my HP Envy x360 2 in 1 laptop, including volume not working, difficult connecting to wifi and backspace glitching out. When I plugged my wire in to charge the laptop yesterday, the charger port began to smoke but after about 10 tries it eventually started charging. Today when the laptop died, I tried to charge it again but now it won’t charge or switch on at all. Does this require me to take it to a repair shop or is it something I can fix at home ?

@Elladurns, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm really sorry to hear about the issues you've been experiencing with your HP Envy x360. Based on what you're describing—especially the smoke coming from the charger port—it's important that you stop using the laptop immediately. The smoke indicates a potential short circuit or electrical fault, which could lead to further damage or even a safety hazard.

Please provide your details, and our team will reach out to you directly to assist you further.
