HP ENVY Laptop - 15-ep0010nr
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Envy laptop has been overheating for some time when it is plugged in to charge.  It gets so hot that  it burns the top of my thighs when I have it on my lap.  In addition, I receive notifications stating that a "Non-HP battery was detected."  I am using the original battery that came with my laptop - which I would presume to be an HP battery.  To continue startup, I click 'Enter" to reboot.

I understand that there is a longstanding problem with HP batteries overheating and am requesting advice on how this problem might be resolved.
