Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

Using only the power cord (without battery), it did not randomly shut down, so this means that the battery needs replacing. Also, I think another factor with it shutting down randomly, could be to do with the laptop overheating. So could you help me find a solution for this. But before that, could you help with replacing the battery (as I want to make sure I do not get the wrong one).

Is this the right battery for my laptop? Because on the link it says HP NOTEBOOK - 14-BS030LA, and I don't think that is my laptop.

My laptop:

Product name: HP Laptop 14-bs0xx           model 14-bs044na

Product number: 2CQ55EA#ABU

Also, would I need to get a new Ac adaptor and power cord?

Thanks.

That's not the link I gave you. I gave you this one for the battery only....

https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=919701-850

But they both use the same battery. Battery part number: 919701-850

You wont need a new power cord or charger since your laptop ran fine on it without the battery already.

Here is your manual... http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05485573

From your product number you gave (2CQ55EA), your full model number is HP Notebook - 14-bs044na.

You would need to install a temperature measuring software to see what your temps are before you can determine how hot its getting.

Core Temp is an easy one to use.

You can post a screen shot of it if you want and I can see what your temps are.

You didn't give me that link, you gave me a different one, and the link I sent was different from the original link that you sent because I had to find the battery. Anyway, it doesn't matter. So the link you sent is the battery I'll get. Thanks

I think overheating could be another factor other than the battery in terms of it shutting down randomly. Could you please help me with this.

Thanks.

Also, does the battery come with a warranty?

You would have to ask HP on the warranty

Look at my previous post again. Download CoreTemp and run it to see where your temps are at.

Ok, didn't see it before, I'll download it.
