Hi,

I am willing to know if there would be a way to cap the charging limit to 80%? I mainly use the laptop in one room and I am getting a desk soon, and I do not want to always unplug and insert the charger all the time if the laptop is to remain stationery? This will be until I can secure a desktop in a while.

F.21 BIOS

87FD 57.20 S Motherboard if that helps.

I am tech savvy but just need to know to prevent issues in the future with the battery.

Your machine is not a business class machine therefore no such option at this stage.

Thank you for clearing that up.

That is really unfortunate though, I might as well just disconnect the battery if I am going to be using the computer on AC power most of the time. I do not wish to cause issues to the battery on the notebook if  I were to hardly leave it on the charger.

Yes it us is unfortunate that my Spectre laptop does not have a feature to limit charging like HP business laptops have. I wonder if it is just software that controls the charging limits, or is it hardware as well?

I know this fix is a bit crude, but since I try to keep my laptop between 40% - 80%, I'll figure out how long it takes to charge from 40-80%  and plug it into a timer.
