I had service at home which replaced the bottom panel. It feels rigid now. I just found out the bottom panel is plastic and not metal. I will post a complaint for that.

Dear HP--

I'm having a very similar issue with my HP Spectre. I've had it for less than 3 weeks. There's no structural damage; it's not been dropped or damaged in any way. Today, I noticed that the bottom panel was starting to become loose on one side. This can only be due to shoddy construction.

I'm a college student and can't afford to be without my computer while HP fixes the issues, so I'd really appreciate being able to talk with someone in order to have an HP representative come to me in order to remedy this problem.

Thank you--

Jacob

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.

The loose bottom was replaced within 5 days by the service of HP, at my home, and is functionning. I have a metal background.

I’m having the same issue   You describe it exactly as I find it. It’s been back to the repair shop twice.   I am waiting for it to go back a third time and HP aren’t playing ball.  Almost 2 months of contact with HP by mail but no closer to getting a repair slot. It is without doubt the last HP product I buy. I’ll tell everyone else to avoid as well.

I have the same problem. I have not dropped or mishandled the laptop and I travel with the case at all times. Thank you!!
