HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c0000 (2W0J3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have both a B&M Key SATA3 SSD and a NVMe available to put into my laptop alongside the 1TB HDD it came with, however I can't seem to get it to register the SATA3 and can't find any info on what type of system the M.2 slot is for so I haven't tried the NVMe yet. Anyone able to help me out with this?

You posted two completely different model numbers.

The 17-by1000 supports both NVMe and SATA SSD's.

HP 17 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

The 17-c0000's M.2 slot only supports NVMe SSD's.

Chapter 1 of the service manual has that information.
