HP Notebook - 15-da0009la
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone, I have a laptop HP Model 15 DA0009LA and I would like to know what is the maximum RAM capacity it supports. Since in forums I have seen that they say it holds only 16 RAM and running a command in the CMD tells me that I can put up to 32 GB, I do not know what you can recommend. I am also evaluating some RAM options: Teamgroup Elite 16 GB DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM.

Also if you recommend me to install an M2

Hi:

Yes, your notebook supports 2 x 16 GB of DDR4 memory, and it does have a M.2 slot that supports both NVMe and SATA SSD's.

For a NVMe SSD, I recommend the Samsung 980 PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD or the Crucial P3 PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD.

One thing you should be aware of:

The NVME slot is PCie 3 x 2 which means that a SSD is going to run at 1/2 of its maximum advertised read/write speeds.

That's still around 3x faster than SATA if the NVMe SSD you buy has a max write speed of 3,500 MBPS.

Your notebook's processor can only run the memory at a maximum speed of 2133 MHz.

The Teamgroup Elite 16 GB DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM should work as long as it is CL22.

This memory should also work.

Timetec 32GB KIT(2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) PC4-25600 Non-ECC Unbuffered 1.2V CL22...

Hello, thank you very much. Currently my laptop only has 8 GB of RAM, it has a Samsung 8 GB 2400 memory, can I put the Team Group on it without causing any problems?

HP Recommended

You're very welcome.

Yes, as long as the Teamgroup 3200 MHz memory is CL22 so that it automatically bridges to the correct 2133 MHz speed and latency.

If the CL speed is not 22, the notebook will not work properly and may not even boot up at all.

You can also run this command to see that your notebook should support 32 GB of memory, even though the manual indicates that 16 GB is the max:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
