I'm looking to upgrade my laptop in the following way
- CURRENT: 16 GB DDR5-4800 MHz RAM (2 x 8 GB)
- NEW: 32 GB DDR5-???? MHz RAM (2 x 16 GB)
ADDITIONAL CONFIG
- PROCCESSOR: Intel® Core™ i7-12700H (2.30 GHz base frequency, up to 4.7 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 24 MB L3 cache, 14 cores, 20 threads)
- NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 3060 6 GB GDDR6 Graphics Card - 1 TB PCIe® Gen 4.0 x4 NVMe™ TLC M.2 Solid-State Drive
graph
QUESTIONS.
- What memory manufactures are compatible with this system?
- Is 32GB the maximum (this seems to be accurate, but looking for confirmation)?
- Can I exceed 4800MT/s or is that the maximum, given the specs for the Intel® Core™ i7-12700H?
- Does the HP ENVY 16-inch Laptop PC 16-h0000 (534C7AV) support Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (Intel® XMP)?
- Based on the support or, or lack thereof, regarding Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (Intel® XMP), how does that influence the selection of memory for the upgrade?
Thank you.

Here is the specification for your laptop series. It states that the maximum installed memory is 32 GB.
16 GB DDR5-4800 MHz RAM (2 x 8 GB)
32 GB DDR5-4800 MHz RAM (2 x 16 GB)
Crucial memory states that 64GB installed memory of their own modules is compatible with your laptop. They guarantee it.

As far as Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (Intel® XMP) goes, you do not have a gaming notebook, so the likelihood of being able to overclock is probably about zero percent .
Upgrade memory

I installed 64 GB DDR5-4800 MHz RAM (2 x 32 GB). Double-checked with Crucial support as well. No issues thus far!
