HI, I have an HP Envy x360 15-ee0026AU with 16GB memory (2x 8GB). I'd like to upgrade this to 32GB. I tried putting in 2x Corsair 16GB modules (CMSX32GX4M2A2666C18) and the laptop wouldn't boot - the power light was on but the screen was blank. Putting the original modules back in fixed it up. I'm guessing these new modules weren't compatible.
Could anyone suggest 16GB modules that are compatible with this laptop? The Crucial product scanner picks up the laptop has having non-removable RAM which isn't correct so that wasn't much use.
Cheers
Edit: I just noticed there's a BIOS update available - I'm on v18, and v19 is available. Would this update be likely to help with the Corsair modules I tried?

Hi:
When googling the model number of the memory you installed, that appears to be gaming memory which has faster timings than the standard memory HP installed in your notebook.
Since you can't change the memory timing/XMP profile in the BIOS oftentimes gaming memory will not work.
I recommend that you install two of these memory chips...
Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT16G4SFRA32A | Crucial.com
It is highly unlikely that updating the BIOS would get the memory you bought to work.
However, that is your decision to update the BIOS or not.
My 15-ee0047nr notebook is on BIOS vF.19.

Classic problem we discuss all the time here. The Corsair you tried to install is the Vengeance line which is performance or gaming memory with very quick timings. HP notebooks like standard OEM memory. If you switch to Samsung, Hynix, stock Crucial or other similar it will work fine. BIOS update is a good idea to do, but will not allow use of the Corsair memory.

Hi, thanks so much for the reply and product recommendation. I had also emailed Crucial asking for their suggestions and they replied with:
We regret to inform that we do not produce SDRAMs and as per this system's specification it has 16 GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB) that is why there are no compatible memory upgrades for this system on our website.
I would suggest you to buy these RAMs from any other seller.
This is really confusing - the CT16G4SFRA32A is DDR4-3200 so surely it would work fine. I've emailed them back asking them to confirm.

You're very welcome.
Crucial won't help you because as far as they are concerned, they are of the opinion the memory can't be upgraded.
The part number I gave you is what they recommend for the 15-ec1000 AMD notebook model series which has the same Ryzen 4xxx processor our notebooks have. Yours has the Ryzen 7, mine has the Ryzen 5.
You can see this discussion which is for the 15-ee0xxx model sold in Canada...page 3, LDB14739's post (3rd from the bottom)...he ordered the exact same memory as what I recommended for you.
The part number in the reply is for the 32 GB kit. I gave you the single 16 GB chip part number.

Thanks again mate, very much appreciated.
I replied to Crucial with a photo showing the removable modules. They responded saying the max RAM my laptop can support is 16GB. It would be much easier if they just said "sorry, we can't guarantee compatibility".
Anyway I've sent the Corsair RAM back to Amazon and used the refund to buy 2x CT16G4SFRA32A. The 32GB kit is more expensive than two single modules on Amazon Australia, go figure.

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
It's like that here in the USA too with Crucial sometimes.
In any event, I don't ever recall seeing the kit more than a dollar or two less than buying 2 of the single memory part number.
It certainly is not a significant discount.
