The OEM keyboard is multilingual but that's has always been a major nuisance. I know this has been a major criticism of this laptop locally. If possible, the English only if that works fine with the mobo.
Interstingly, we have two of the same g6 laptops. The one with the keyboard issue is my sister's who recently passed away. The other is mine that I rarely use. Now mine is starting to exhibit early warning signs of keyboard issues.
Was there a problem with the g6 series laptops? Has this issue been problematic over the years? It seems too much of a coincidence.

Yeah I have seen a fair number of G6s with keyboard issues, but there are no statistics. The one I linked is English not multilingual. Keyboard is not very expensive and easy to replace is the best news I can give. Good luck.

I have received my replacement keyboard but I can't do the most basic thing: remove the two screws from the service door. I have unscrewed them over and over and they simply won't pop out. I tried popping them out with some tweezers but they still won't come out. This is very frustrating and such a complication like this doesn't make things easy.
Additionally, I have opened up my laptop and followed the instructions and seriously, this is not an easy job. I would suggest never telling one that this is an easy thing to do. An easy thing to do is turn on a light switch. This is complicated to replace a laptop keyboard: it's simply bad advice. There are no instructions on how to gently pry loose the three straps (picture is horrible) inside the battery bay. Every youtube video i have seeen does not follow this procedure. I wonder why?

I ran into my neighbour who was able to assist me. He was able to get the service bay open and replace the keyboard for me.
The same issue is still present. After all this, it's not the keyboard. It must be a faulty mobo. Thank you HP. I won't recommend or buy HP again.
