One of my USB ports isn't working on my laptop so does anyone know if I need to get a new charger or is it maybe the device that's faulty?

Can we have the full model number please? So is it usb-C chargeable and the port is not working?

oh yes thank you for replying back so swiftly, the model number is 13-ae011dx and it is USB c chargeable

Do you have a usb-C device other than the charger to test with? Tap esc as you power up then F2 for diagnostics. Choose usb and it will walk you through doing a hardware test on each port. Test can also be done within Windows if you download the diagnostics app.

which diagnostics test do I run sir and yes I have a USB C hub and it had a USB C port where I  can plug in the charger I'Ve also that and it does not charge.

I tried to do what you said but I  could not find a USB port diagnostics I  went to the HP support assistant to run a diagnostics hardware test.

HP Support Assistant test will not include usb ports. You have to use the UEFI diagnostics. Esc then F2
