Hello itsmebaba43. I understand you updated the BIOS and now the computer doesn't turn on properly. I have located a document that contains information on this situation: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01443366
In this document, you will refer to the section named "BIOS corruption failure". This is an issue with the BIOS, which can be appropriate assumed since you updated your BIOS.
Please let me know your results as soon as you can troubleshoot. I'm only here to help!
Mario

Thank you for the response. You have already indicated the blinking light symptom, and I provided a document in one of my previous posts, that can be located here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/My-laptop-does-not-boot-it-cannot-detect-the-hard-dri...
If the troubleshooting on this document does not resolve the issue, you may have to service the computer. Especially if you are unable to use any function of the computer due to the black screen. In this situation, contact HP at the most relevant number based on your region. You can locate that information here: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
When you contact them, their options will be based on the computer's warranty status. You can locate that information here, if you are unsure: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/wc/home?ac.admitted=1383763792097.876444892.199480...
Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
