I have a Spectra X360 model 13-4002dx which is dead and with a capacitor damaged in the motherboard battery charging circuit
I don't want to spend over $500 to repair it if it will just die again. I have read many posts that have the same capacitor damaged.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

I just received my Spectra back from repair. They changed the motherboard but kept my old hard drive so I didn't lose any data or installed software. The repair took one week including shipping both ways.
I was most impressed with the fact that they repaired my more than 2 year old computer for free so although many of us have experienced this seeming design/manufacturing flaw, I have had my confidence restored in HP's service and support department.

I purchased two HP Spectra 15-bl112dx
Last night I pressed sleep on my computer while I went to get dinner from the restauranr. I returned and the computer will not turn on nor does it show any signs of power. It was plugged in. I tried to press and hold the power button with no results. I'm really upset that I e paid so much for a computer that has failed so soon. Please help.
