I have had various problems with this laptop, including the destruction of the SSD and hard drive (under warranty) that would appear to have been heat-related. Now, after the expiration of the warranty, my case is swelling in the lower-right corner, below the keyboard and to the right of the mouse pad. It is to the point that the mouse pad binds on the right side and the keyboard itself has become distorted. I do not feel any extraordinary amount of heat in the area and the laptop still functions on battery power though I use battery power very infrequently. I added the battery comments since I imagine the problem is with a battery pack that is reaching a critical expansion due to defect. I've seen a number of references to similar things with these laptops as well as other HP laptop models. Please let me know if you have experienced this and, if so, what you did to remedy the situation. I do not want the laptop to have the battery self-destruct and destroy the whole PC. If there is an HP tech monitoring this, is there any type of recall for this issue since it poses a substantial loss in investment not to mention a possible harm to users?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
