Probook 440 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We recently purchased some Probook 440 G6's laptops.

I've built a couple using HP drivers and a SCCM image, however when you plug them into the AC Mains after  afew seconds the FAN incrases in speed.

The BIOS option for; FAN Always on whilst connected to AC is off.

THe BIOS version is 1.10 which is what I've updated them to.  Windows Power settings are set to default and I'm npt sure why the fans is on high as it's loud for the user.  As a result this is also draining the battery life.

Has anyone else noticed this with the 440 G6's?

I know they've added more ventilation slots at the top of the laptop and made it thinner could this be a design fault?

It's only when it's conencted to the Power adapter, and I've used different adapters same issue.  When you unplug the Adapter a few seconds later the fan speed reduces, and if you plug it in, it increases. after a few seconds.

I have exactly the same problem:  When I connect the power supply, the fan turns much faster even for small tasks! And that is really annoying. I use a HP Docingstation and every time I connect the notebook to it the fan runs, even when in idle! Anyway, I updated the BIOS to the latest version, Windows 10 is completely new installed, the notebook is 2 months old, I installed all updates correctly but the problem still exists.

@Skipinda You're not the only one with the problem. Many Probook 440 G6 users have the same problem.

@HP Support please let me know if the problem is known and will be handled!

i also have the exact same problem.

When AC-Power is on. Fan is running bananas.

Everything is updated including BIOS, drivers etc..

Can not have it in the same room while it is connected with AC.

I have the same issue, when the computer is plugged in the fan is on most of the time even if the cpu usage is les than 3% . I have the same problem on windows and ubuntu, it shows that it comes from the bios.

Ps "fan always on while on ac" is dislabled in the bios.

A lot of users have reported that kind of issue for 1 year, there have been like 5 new bios version released since the first complains but none of them fix the problem. How can I directly contact the hp devellopement team ?

Yes it is really annoying. I sent my 440 G6 in for "troubleshooting" and they did a factory reset and sent it back.

Still same problem.
