I see several posts that suggest I'm not alone in my disappointment in the right hinge on my 17inch Windows 10 laptop. Never before have I seen such a thing..no I didn't buy extended support...didn't think I'd need to duct tape my laptop for it to work..just regular wear - maybe opened and closed 100 times. (Don't they do that in QA? or with early reports like those in 2019?) Now, its on the brink of breaking the body with exposed seems. I'm writing to see if HP made good with a recall on these? any help appreciated. thanks!

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing hinge issues with your HP Notebook - 17-By1053dx.
This could be a hardware issue with the unit and may need repair.
I suggest that you contact HP Service Center in your location from this web link

Hi, thanks for the response. Unfortunately it doesn't help and really only makes me more disappointed in HP. I see many posts here regarding this defect and your response suggests I should spend at minimum 100 dollars to fix something that should never have left the station. I've had so many laptops over the years and this is the first one that is physically falling apart. Its shoddy and evasive to step away from this, and only hope more people see this as well. I'll put my 100 bucks towards a new Dell unless you can cover my repair costs. thanks in advance for your support.

@Gaahth
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.

Just an epilog for anyone getting to this point of the thread - Someone from Executive Escalations got in touch, but still sending me to a third party repair at my own expense. So...I guess HP thinks its ok for their laptops to fall apart with normal use. Disappointed for sure. Thanks though, @Sandytechy20 for raising it - appreciate your attention.
