Hi everyone,
I have an HP N233-SL, and the max ram I can install is 8GB. By default I had 6gb.
I checked and now is 1x4gb+1x2gb. I wanted to buy a new 1x4gb to add, to have finally 2x4GB.
Problem is that the ram now installed is a DDR3 PC3-12800 (800 MHz), and I don't find any ram to buy that is 800 MHz.
Now all I fnd is 1600 MHz. What happens if I install a 1600 MHz instead of the 800? And is working to have a ram working at 800 and a second one working at 1600 (that suppose the system will downgrade to 800)?
Thx a lot
Luca

Hi,
DDR3 PC3-12800 should be 1600MHz. I don't know why they put 800MHz but still valid interm od dual channel configuration. Dual means two and each channel run 800MHz or the RAM specs is 1600MHz.
No, system won't downgrade, it will run 800MHz each channel in dual mode.
Regards.
