Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

What Dram does the Gaming laptop take. I have an extra stick of ddr4 2400 and was hoping to add that to the laptop. Does anyone know if this would work?

Dave,

Thanks for the info, I would imagine that 16 GB at 2400 is better than one at 2666. I also have a 1 TB ssd I want to install and a NMVe ssd as the boot drive. Howver if I do this I will have to pull out the optane. I believe the optane works at peak performace with HHD more than an SSD. I can alway just hold onto the optane for future use.

Hi,

Your PC supports max 32GB of DDR4 2666Mhz RAM (2x16GB) even if service manual mentions 16GB

There  are two slots and at the moment you have one 8GB module.

The DDR4 2400Mhz module will probably work bringing the other module to 2400Mhz. You can always give it a try.

On page 43 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM:

Hope it helps,

David
