Hi,
I have the same issue with my HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ae010ca,
I followed all the suggestions in the virtual agent, including power reset, as well as suggestions in the following post:
It seems to me there is some problem with the mother board.
I checked the HP support web page for warranty status, and the warranty is out. However similarly as reported by other customers with the same issue, my laptop was not used a lot and I have it for no more than 2 years.
Could you please send me the private post to advise me what are my options?
Thank you.

@Rem71 I looked up your product information and I'm afraid the DC-Port is soldered/inbuilt on the motherboard and hence you'll need to replace the entire board: click here & check page. Component replacement procedures 51 - 53 for details on part numbers of parts tested and approved by HP to work on your device and the replacement process as well, with diagrams, as listed below:

@Rem71 Welcome to HP Community!
If you've identified or confirmed this to be a motherboard failure, although it's most likely the DC-port since the issue is related to charging, and since its out of warranty, here's what you could do:
You may order the replacement parts on the HP Parts Store, use the HP Parts Surfer to find the part number and If you've already looked for it and couldn't find it on the HP Parts Store, you may want to get it locally at the online store such as Amazon or eBay, etc...as the part numbers are universal.

Dear Support,
Could you please help me locate the suspected failed dc converter or regulator on my laptops mother board and the corresponding part number so I could purchase and replace it? A block diagram, a picture or service manual would be very helpful. Thank you very much.

I have found that to purchase a motherboard from ebay for my HP laptop would cost me ~$460 USD (that is 40% of the original price). Considering it is just a 2 year old laptop, and the issue obviously must be related to some manufacturing fault, would HP be able to provide some compensation towards the motherboard replacement or other solution?
Thank you.

@Rem71
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
