Hi.

The AmazonBasics USB Type-C to USB Type-C 2.0 Cable is not availabel on Amazon right now.  Could I use a USB Type-C to USB-A Male 3.1 Gen2 Cable instead with the Cable Matters 72W 4-Port USB-C Charger?

No. The USB A cable does not provide the power required to charge the notebook. It is best to use USB C 3.1 but USB C 3.0 will work. There are several on amazon.
