I purchased hp spectre x360 just 16 months ago. Suddenly it has stopped working, its is not powering on, its charging, no response at all.
After reading the forums I learnt that it is a know issue. Most of the laptops stopped working after the same duration.
Hp suggested a motherboard replacement which I think is not feasible/required at all for such a premium and expensive laptop. And they are chraging 600$ for it. I am a student here and I already paid a huge amount when I purchased this laptop, and It is really annoying to know that many people faced the similar issue. HP should do something about it. I dont have a machine since 2 weeks. Please suggest me a feasible way to get my laptop fixed.
Thanks

Hi @dnshb92,
Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are having issues with the computer won't power on. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
What seems to be an issue with the computer?
When you try to turn it on, do you hear the fan running? Or do you get any beeping noises/blinking lights?
Does the laptop shutdown right away if the charger is disconnected from the laptop?
Have you tried to use a different compatible charger and check if it helps?
Did this happen after a power surge or power outage?
Perform the below steps:
If the computer does not start, the LED lights do not glow, and the display is black,
you can perform one or more of the following actions to resolve the no power issue:
(Click on the blue letters to get more details about each step)
-
Examine the adapter and power cord for physical damage
-
Test the power from the AC wall outlet to the notebook connector
-
Start computer using the battery only
-
Check that the lid switch moves freely
-
When you have completed the troubleshooting steps, there should be power available to the computer. When you press the power button, the LEDs should glow, and you should hear the sounds of the fan and the hard drive spinning.
-
If the battery does not accept the charge or the notebook does not turn on without the AC adapter, contact HP to order a replacement battery.
-
If the LEDs do not glow, and there are no other indicators of power being available to the computer, contact HP for technical assistance in troubleshooting a potential problem with the AC power connection or the system board.
-
If the LEDs blink, or the computer beeps, but it does not start, go to HP Notebook PCs - Troubleshooting LED Blink Codes or Beep Codes During Startup or Boot.
-
If the LEDs glow but the computer does not start on either battery or AC power, go to Troubleshooting Black Screen Displays with No Error Messages During Startup or Boot.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care.

Hi Jeet
Thanks for the reply. But as I mentioned my laptop is dead. There are no leds, beeps or black screens and hp is asking for 600 $ for the replacement.
I am a student here, with no machine since 3 weeks and I cant pay that much money for a sudden death, after paying 1400 bucks for a premium laptop. I am not aware of any nearby reason, how that even happened.
This issue has been faced by so many previously.

If this is such a common issue, I am expecting a quick help from hp.
Thanks
