I have hp pavilion 15 bc406tx and I am looking forward to upgrade to ssd. I just want to ask if my laptop supports NVMe internal ssd. 

Product that I will buy :- 

Western Digital WD SN550 500GB NVMe Internal SSD - 2400MB/s R, 1750MB/s W, (WDS500G2B0C, Blue)

Hi:

 

Chapter 1, page 5 of the service manual indicates that only M.2 SATA SSD's are supported.

 

Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion Notebook PC

 

It also indicates that Optane memory is supported and usually if Optane memory is supported, so are NVMe SSD's.

 

There is conflicting information in these discussions, as to whether or not a NVMe drive will work.

 

These two indicate yes, a NVMe SSD should work.

This one...a person installed a NVMe drive in his 15-bc400, and it didn't work.

Yes but his model is different from mine, btw thanks for the reply I too think that nvme will work in my case
