Product: HP Victus 16-r0010nl

Hello everyone,

I'm thinking about buying the HP Victus 16-r0010nl and I wanted to insert another NVMe SSD but I have a question: in a laptop is it better to buy an SSD with or without heat sink? Does it fit into the laptop? I'm looking for a WD Black SSD. I'm comparing SN770 and SN850X.

Hi:

 

If you look at the service manual and the service teardown video, the NVMe SSD's are inside enclosures, so a SSD with a heat sink will not fit.

 

See the illustrations in chapter 5, pages 34 & 35.

See the service teardown video...the NVMe SSD removal procedure begins at 05:02.
