Pavilion 15 n006ax
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was thinking of adding extra 4GB Ram to my Pavilion 15 n006ax notebook. Before I bought a new ram I desided to check the other ram slot if its working properly. So I opened up the encloser and put the ram in the other slot. But my pc won't boot in this situation. After turning on, its stuck with a black screen. I have checked both RAM slots several times. the first one works just fine. So does it mean that the other RAM slot is faulty or there could be other issues ?

Hello rajorshi,

Welcome to FORUM !!

Both Memory Slots are identically made . If the SLOT A is detecting the MEM MODULE and letting the PC to turn on without any errors and the SLOT B is not with the same MEM MODULE. This could be a hardware issue. ie the SLOT B

However to confirm this, please try with another identical MODULE(  Should not matter with different size- 2gb or 4gb). Make sure its type as your PC will support 1600 MHz DDR3L .  If possible

Here is the specs : http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03928134

Incase your PC is under warranty HP will service it for no cost under warranty regulations.
