Hi All, I also have this problem. HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-BL012DX. The bulge gets slightly bigger when I use the laptop. I have stopped using it since this past weekend. I bough it mid-February 2017 and noticed the bulge around mid-April 2018. Is it true that HP is replacing these batteries? I am out of warranty as well.
Sincerely, AC

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

Quick follow-up. HP took care of everything. I got a new battery and the laptop returned in a week. Kudos to HP for taking care of this so quickly. I hope not many customers are affected by this. They even performed a malware scan, although intrusive, I think was nice of them to go out of their way. Thanks all!

I too have a swollen battery. My Spectre x360 15" 4k is out of warranty and I don't seem to be able to find the original battery on HP's parts store. How can I go about ordering a replacement?
I'm currently running on A/C power after removing the battery which has doubled in size and looks about ready to burst.

Hello, I have the same issue - bulging battery that has caused the touchpad to warp. Out of warranty, only 39 cycles on battery (and interstingly the battery is functioning fine but concerned about further damage/issues). Is HP still helping with this? Thanks
