Spectre x360-13 notebook will not power on

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Purchased this late 2017 and has had intermittent use. I haven't used in for a couple of months and have never had any problems until now.

Trying to switch it on and there is no response whatsoever from the laptop when the power on button is pressed. I have also tried the hard reset steps with no luck.

 

The charging light comes on white briefly and then orange when it is plugged in, no other lights or sounds occur at any time while trying to switch it on.

 

I have seen several posts stating it could be a known fault with the motherboard but cannot find a way to report this to HP without paying for a remote diagnostic repair, which of course would be useless.
