Spectre x360 13-4002dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I'm having a shape deformation of the body of my spectre x360. It's the bottom area, right under the keyboard.

I have noticed a minor deformation a few month ago, and ignored it since I thought it's due to heating... But now the lower plastic starts to separate from the upper keyboard, and I wonder if that's a swollen battery. Is this the area where the battery is (right under the mouse pad)? Should I order a new battery or it might be something else?

Wanted to consult before I'm ordering a new battery.

Thanks!

EDIT: I also checked the battery status using the HP tool, it says everything is OK.

That is almost definitely a swollen battery. Just removed mine after it started pushing the track pad through the case. The battery status program read mine as functioning normally as it did for you, however it was surely not.
