All,
Couple of weeks back, I purchased a new hp split x2 - direct from HP. I got too confused with all the different split x2s out there, so wanted to make sure that I buy the right model that I could add an additional SSD on the keyboard. The sales guy told me that the model I was looking for was 13T-M100.
I got a good deal for an samsung ssd, ordered the HP upgrade kit ( I used the serial number of my laptop to order the HDD upgrade kit) and tried to upgrade it today. After taking off the cover, the battery, I found out that the hdmi board lacked a connector for HDD.
Can someone help me? Is the HDD connector elsewhere on the M100? I have placed a call with HP (through email), not sure when and if I will get the reply.
Page 40 of the manual from HP titled HP Split X2 PC maintenance and service guide shows a picture of a slot under the HDMI card, that is missing in my PC.
If I am unable to add the SSD, I plan on returning the laptop back..
Can someone in this forum help please?????
Thanks in advance.

The model you ordered could have been configured with the 500gb drive direct from HP. The salesperson should have directed you to this. I hope that you have opened your laptop in such a way that it can be put back together w/o hp noticing as opening it probably voided your warrenty.

Yes, but I did clearly mention this to the sales person that I want the model that will allow me to upgrade with an SSD in the future. But what I dont understand is even if it was configured with a HDD, how will the HDD be connected? where will the cable be connected? I do not see anything close by the HDD/SSD bay where there is an open connector. Here is a follow up question:
Can I replace the HDMI board? How do I makes ure that the HDMI board has a connector? A new HDMI board costs 35$ in HP parts store..
