I tried to restore the system already and it didn't work. Any other ideas?

Looks like, after all you've done and read through here, you probably have it narrowed down to a hardware problem.  Sounds like you might need to replace, or have someone else replace, the keyboard.

This  is an intermittant problem:  restore doesn't work.  This is the second  time this has happened and i  would like my computer to function normally.....  Fortunately it is under warranty so if you don't have a fix for it  I WILL be insisting on  a replacement since I do  NNOOTT have time for  this  CCRRAAPP!!!!!!

Sorry the previous suggestions were of no help.

Sounds like you're on the right track to call HP, since it's in the warranty period.

Same here. It just happened today, and now it is really hard to type. I've had to backspace one letter all the time to actually show people what I'm saying, but everywhere I type, I'm getting: TThhiiss ffoorr eexxaammppllee.

Also, my warranty isn't over. It's rather disgusting how I've just got a HP and yet it is still such bad qualitty, and that itt just happened all of a sudden.

So please, can you tell me how  I ccan fix this prroblem ASAPP?? Thanks.

I've been having this problem and would like to add that the problem to double typing ONLY appears after I've opened a

pdf file.  I have reboot my notebook (HP Pavilion) to temporarily resolve the problem.  There's no problem provided I don't open a pdf document......

Any ideas?

All I did was change the hard ware settings to standard instead of changing the time or rate at which it doubles it's in the same settings in control panel ,keyboard and hardware
