Pavilion M6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Good day. A long time ago, an optical drive broke on my HP pavilion m6. I want to combine the repair and upgrade and install instead of it immediately the drive that supports Blu ray. Tell me which one is suitable? or at least what thickness the 12.7 or 9.5 mm drive itself is needed.
Thanks for the help.

This is the HP Part:

DVD±RW Double-Layer with SuperMulti Drive (includes optical drive bezel
and optical drive bracket)
686916-001

Since yours has gone bad you already have the bracket and bezel you can reuse by swapping over to a bare BD-RW drive.

Looking up the HP Part it is a slim 9.5mm tray load drive so you just need to find a BD-RW of those dimensions.

Please give us the full model number. Do you want a Blu-Ray reader or reader and writer drive? You will need Blu-Ray software as even Windows 10 will not natively work with Blu Ray media

HP Pavilion M6-1062er. Read and write. I know about the need for additional software. Studied service manual. It is very incomprehensibly written there and 12.7 and 9.5 mm.
