Microsoft Windows 11

I have installed windows 10 on this notebook,at the request of a relative, to take to collage. It originally came with Win11. (When is MS going to stop making life difficult for the average user? HP should tell them to stop mucking with the UI!)

I am aware that HP does not list windows 10 as a supported system. I did not try to install the available bios download, as it was listed as the initial release. The HP support assistant also showed the bios as up to date.

All of the Windows 11 drivers downloaded from hp installed fine on Windows 10.

Please help me find a compatible driver.

This notebook is an AMD  Ryzon System.- direct from HP.

(HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-ey0000 IDS Base Model)

I have installed all drivers except for the one in the topic. The full list of Hardware IDs:

ACPI\VEN_HPIC&DEV_0014
ACPI\HPIC0014
*HPIC0014

thank you.

Hi, i've a similar problem... but i just have driver installed...

the problem is that driver can't load (code 39) caused a corrupted driver or not signed.

i just tried to uninstall and install with your archive... nothing change!!!

I was in your same boat: I've freshly installed Windows 11 22H2 on my new HP Spectre X360 14-ef0000 series and I managed to install every drivers fine on it, excepting ACPI\HPIC0014.

It got installed by Windows Update directly (https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=ACPI%5CHPIC0014) and after that, Device Manager reports a code 39 error in this peripheral.

I tried on first instance to update the driver by the file HPIC0014.zip I found on this forum, but with no luck. I tried then to completely remove the peripheral and driver from Device Manager and I achived it by swithing to "Driver View" in the Device Manager.

I then completely remove the driver and clicked on the button to detect the HW modification. I then re-installed the perpheral by using the HPIC0014.zip file and that did the trick: no more Code 39 error!

I leave here the explanation for anyone could step in the same error and did'n know hot to sort it out.

Hi, i've find the solution!!!

So.. first, download the driver linked few posts back.. then unpack where you want.

Open device manager, in the menu, open view menu and choose DEVICE BY DRIVER.

Go to oem49.inf (hpspsnotification.inf)

Right click on it and choose remove driver/remove device,

In the next window, choose both options to check (remove totally drivers).

After that, in the menu choose ACTION (second menu) and then INSTALL DRIVER

Choose the driver you unpacket before.

Reboot system.

FINE!

Thanks Robist, it solved the issue on the HP Spectre X360 16-n.... The original driver was under different oem number but apart from that I followed your instructions and got rid of the pesky error 39.
