Hi there, I would like to know the spefications of my motherboard. I want to install a SSD M.2 nvme so I would like to know if it is compatible. The motherboard reads as HP 84F8, but I just can't find the info in the web. Thanks!

Hi:

 

Unfortunately, there is conflicting info on this...

 

The service manual indicates only SATA SSD's are supported but Intel Optane memory is supported.

 

See chapter 1, pages 4 & 5.

These two discussions indicate yes, a NVMe SSD should work, but the folks that asked the questions never replied that they actually installed a NVMe SSD...just that the respondents indicated it would work.  So no concrete evidience.

Solved: PCIe SSD supported or not - HP Support Community - 7821049

 

This one...a person installed a NVMe drive in his 15-bc400, and it didn't work.
