There is a problem in Japan. The laptops Japanese office sells, are of the lowest grade in specs and, consequently, of worst quality.
Particularly my Envy 13 ah spent more than 4 months in repairs, and created only stress for me, more stress was created by Japanese office incapable and unwilling to solve problems - they are simply sending laptops to china for service... Finally, after WiFi and Bluetooth failed (after previous "service") they agree to refund this crippled laptop.
But really, at the moment Envy 13, model for US market, has the best specs in the market. Since both are serviced in China, why shouldn't I buy a US model? I am not Japanese, isn't it natural?
Some small sellers at Amazon already offer the model 13-aq0044nr, which I believe is a work on mistakes of previous iterations.
But the question is warranty.
- How the warranty is fulfilled in Japan for the US Envy 13 laptop purchased at Amazon from a small business reseller?
- What is the starting day of international Warranty? Is it the day of purchase at Amazon, or delivery to my address in Japan?
- Is there a way to add an extended warranty with accidental damage insurance feature for US model Envy 13 in Japan?
Really, Japanese official sales sucks, so it is either US 13-aq0044nr with 16Gb/512Gb/MX250, not available in Japan, or some Dell, or Microsoft laptop.

Sorry, but this is just self-help Community staffed mostly by volunteers and we are not authorized to deal with warranty, service or equipment replacement issues. For these issues, you will need to contact HP Customer Support.
To contact HP Support see the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:
Step 1. Open link: a href=https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true</a>
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on: HP contact options - click on Get phone number
Case number and phone number appear.
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP

you mean this very topic link?

While it is not clear how to get there... are you joking? I am in Japan!
That's why people are using The Internet, when Alexander Bell's Telephone lines are too long for calling...
I was trying contacting a life person, either by email, or chat, but the bot completely cut the hp humans out from outer world communication. they are unreachable, if the communication is not initiated by themselves. so I hoped that HP people are reading the forum, and will initiate communication, as it was in previous cases of support (which I am grateful for).

Step 1. Open link: - done
Step 2. Enter Product - done
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? - no such option
I managed to find some phone number in support section some other way, by blindly hitting in all directions... but it is a phone. I am not in the US. That is the main point - in US there are no questions, I just buy and have a warranty.
But I am abroad, and the International Warranty rules are not clearly explained for this case.
Need some contact to sales/support specialist in HP...

Great news!
I finally reached chat operator and he said that
1)the warranty for small-business(not a direct distributor) import is started based on purchase slip, when buying at Amazon-Japan.
2)It can be extended after contacting US support department up to accidental damage insurance, and claims can be processed through Japanese office as a proxy.
That is better than I thought!
