I bought this laptop earlier this year [I don't know the exact date, but the original install date in system info says 6/11/2018, and that's about the general time I remember]. Been having a lot of issues with the battery over the past couple of months, and my computer just shuts off now even at 'full' battery when unplugged for a couple of minutes. When I checked the warranty, it says it started in 2016, and ended in November of 2017, half a year before I bought.
I don't have my receipt anymore, so I'm not sure if there's any other way to fix this, and get my battery replaced under warranty? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Can we have the model number and product number? Warranty commences from the date of retail purchase but is keyed into the system based on build date and a presumed time on the shelf. If the laptop sat on the shelf for a while the warranty can seem to expire before sale. In order to get a different date you will need proof of purchase, however. No one is going to extend your warranty based on a vague recollection of a "general time" so you will need to go to where you bought it or check your credit card records or something to establish when and where you bought it.

I have no issues getting in touch with the place I bought it from, and will certainly do my best to find proof from them of when I purchased it; but before I go through that trouble, I was just wondering if it would make a difference? Is there any proof I can get from the store that would be adequate for a dispute?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
