HP Notebook - 15-ba078dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

It says that a maximum of 16gb total ram memory are applicable only on HP Notebook - 15-ba078dx [http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/hp-15-ba078dx]

But it does'nt provide any maximum RAM frequency details for it. And I don't know if the motherboard can handle a high amount of ram frequency. I can't find the answer of that in google. How can i search that?

Welcome to the forum @markram987g

DDR4-1866 dual channel support:

(DDR4-2400 bridge to DDR4-2133, and DDR4-2133 downgrade to DDR4-1866):

Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM:

Sorry i don't really quite understand that, if i have ddr4 2400mhz ram ,What will be the actual frequency of that ram when inserted on my motherboard?

@markram987g

Try running Crucial System Scanner

http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/systemscanner

It will give you all the information for the memory.

It doesn't say much. http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/hp-15-ba078dx

I already read that a month ago. Crucial just provide a compatible ram which is 2400-2666mhz. So i'll repeat again my question. If i use 2400mhz ram what will be the final frequency?

Again from your manual: Page 2

(DDR4-2400 bridge to DDR4-2133)

You have an A10 CPU and Touch Screen???

Yes sir my laptop had that..

I know it has dual channel. but i can't really understand this.

"(DDR4-2400 bridge to DDR4-2133)"

Do you mean 2400 will downhrade to 2133mhz?

HP Recommended

@markram987g

That is correct: "Yes it will downgrade to 2133mhz"

It is common with many computers. "Laptops and desktops."

i think i got it a little bit..

So if i use 2400mhz ram, the real frequency is 2133mhz.

Or using 2133mhz turns to 1866mhz.

So why does it says "it support DDR4-1866 dual channel" if a 2400mhz ram can be inserted  and usable into the motherboard?
