I am working on fixing a laptop for a friend and whenever I try to boot it the light for power on both sides of the laptops lights up but the light for the drive does not. I assumed this was a issue with the storage but when I popped it open I couldn't find anything resembling a hdd or a ssd. There wasnt even any blank spaces where one could go. I havent been able to find any useful videos or articles so I thought someone here might be able to help. Let me know if you have any other questions and I will do the best to answer them.

Hi:
That model has a 64 GB eMMC drive which is not serviceable.
If the drive is bad, the motherboard would have to be replaced since the eMMC drive is an integral part of the motherboard.
Chapter 3 of the service manual has the two motherboards HP offered with the eMMC drives.
