so I have decided to do a fresh install of my OS and clean drives.
i have wiped my drives and booted from a USB to install win10 but after progressing "install" it shows an error saying:
"A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB or Hard disk driver."
I have tried reinstalling the windows tool on my USB several times to no avail.
i appreciate the help 🙂

Hi:
Your notebook should be supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which you can use to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC>
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

You're very welcome.
Some folks are indicating the link that HP sends you to does not provide the right version of the cloud recovery tool.
If you have that problem, I have zipped up and attached the Cloud recovery tool file I use, below.
