Upgraded the drive to a SSD and now having problems with the wireless mouse. Plugged in a wired mouse and have the same problems...also same problem with the touch pad. Didn't have any problems before the upgrade. Downloaded new drivers and spent hours on the phone with Microsoft thinking it might be a problem with the Windows 10 download. Reinstalled Windows 10...no help. Nothing seems to work. Microsoft says it is probably a problem with the Notebook. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Hello @MJS24
@MJS24 wrote:I've been away for a few days, UB, sorry for the delay. May I ask you if you've noticed something in the pics I've posted that would prompt you to believe I need to reinstall Windows? The reason I ask is that I have already done that with the Microsoft person and it didn't help. I haven't reinstalled all the HP drivers though...I will gladly reinstall Windows, but I wanted to let you know that I have already installed Windows 10 2X on this new drive. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Mike
You don't need to reinstall Windows.
The BIOS settings are OK. The current problem seems to be a technical defect.
My options are exhausted. I recommend the following: |
HP warranty valid -> Contact HP Support for service repair
HP warranty expired:
You should have it serviced by a professional notebook (chip level) repair store.
Alternative:
Buy another used/new notebook.
Good luck
