Hi, Adina:

Temporarily disconnect the 2 5" drive, and the Windows boot manager should automatically switch to boot from the SSD.

Hi Paul,

So I have done that, disconnected the HDD, and all I get is still the  "no bootable device - insert boot disk"... message. I don't seem to have acces to the BIOS at all this way.

Hi, Adina:

The only suggestion I can now offer would be to install Windows on the new SSD by using the HP cloud recovery tool.

The HP cloud recovery tool will create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC on the new SSD.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

If you have to use the utility on another PC, you will need to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.

Thank you so much, I have finally managed it all. The computer is much faster now and I can use the HDD as a second drive.

Best,

Adina
