Hello my old ssd wasn’t getting detected so I got a brand new one and this one still isn’t getting detected ik I don’t have windows on it yet but in bios itself the storage section isn’t displaying and I have my ssd installed correctly and it’s brand new straight out the box and it still won’t be detected.

Boot into HP's BIOS first, and look for anything related to Storage settings, and find SATA mode, switch it to AHCI.

If it has VMD controller then disable that too. Save and exit. 

Now, check if SSS appears

Hello sorry for the late reply I was busy doing other stuff I’m looking in my bios and there is no storage tab and I can’t find sata anywhere.

There shouldn't be storage tab in bios. Check main tab or advanced tab for storage configuration or Sata mode

 this is what my bios look like I don’t see no advances tab at all, and in boot settings it’s says no bootable device

In this case, I’m afraid I’m out of ideas and may not be able to help further. I hope someone else, or perhaps you, can identify the root cause and find a solution. Good luck!

HP BIOS generally doesn't display storage drive unless Windows is installed on it, which will make it bootable.

Once Windows is installed, enter the BIOS -> Boot Options menu -> UEFI Boot Order -> select 'OS Boot Manager' and hit the Enter key -> storage drive will be displayed with manufacture's name and model number.

So, the BIOS not displaying the new drive is not a problem. You just need to install Windows on it.

If your notebook came with Windows preinstalled, use HP Cloud Recovery Tool to create a bootable recovery usb drive which will install factory image on the new drive.

I have a usb with windows 11 on it already I can boot into the install screen but when I get there no ssd is found to boot windows into then randomly yesterday it showed my ssd then downloaded windows to 70% then it shutoff and couldn’t find the ssd for the rest of the day.  Every component works and passed the diagnostic tests but storage and I tried reseating my ssd and still doesn’t get found.

Many folks reported that the Windows installer doesn't detect SSD drives in notebooks with Ryzen processors. 

The Windows installation media contains Windows native storage controller drivers for SSDs, but apparently something prevents the installation setup from loading those drivers. It's a well-known issue.

Folks found some tricks that allow the setup to install the drivers to detect SSDs to install Windows on.

This thread reports that the person disabled secure boot in the BIOS to install Windows.

This person switched to MCT for a successful W11 installation.

If none of them worked for you, you may need to use HP Cloud Recovery Tool.
