Hi @RAKESHKUMAR21,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it must be when your fingerprint sensor works in BIOS diagnostics but not in Windows 11, especially on a reliable device like your HP Pavilion 14-dv2057TU. You're doing a great job by checking the hardware test first, which confirms the sensor itself is functional. Let’s now focus on getting it working in Windows.

Step-by-Step Fix for Fingerprint Sensor Not Working in Windows

1. Check Device Manager

  • Press Windows + X → Select Device Manager.
  • Expand Biometric Devices or Unknown Devices.
  • Look for Synaptics, Goodix, or ELAN Fingerprint Sensor.
  • If it’s missing or has a yellow warning icon:
    • Right-click → Uninstall device.
    • Restart your laptop to reinstall automatically.

2. Install or Update the Fingerprint Driver

3. Enable Windows Hello Fingerprint

  • Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
  • Under Fingerprint Recognition (Windows Hello), click Set up.
  • Follow the prompts to register your fingerprint.

4. Check Windows Biometric Service

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Find Windows Biometric Service.
  • Make sure it’s running and set to Automatic.
  • If not, right-click → Start and set Startup type to Automatic.

5. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics in Windows

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
