Hi
I have HP Pavilion dv6-1330ev laptop, I've already before upgraded the CPU to Intel X7900 extreme, now I am thinking about upgrading it again to a quad cored CPU, my socket is PGA478, I found that I have 3 choices:
*Q9000
*Q9100
*QX9300
I am not sure weather it gonna work or not due to the difference in the number of cores and the bus speed requirements, the quad CPUs need 1066 MHz while the duo need 800 MHz and I dont know what is the bus speed of my laptop, I have PM45 chipset and I think that it is capable of running quad CPU.
My motherboard is: Hewlett-Packard 3628
Can any one help me or have any one done something like this?

Here's the Service Manual:
You are entirely in uncharted waters here. Technically you should not have been able to upgrade to the X7900. We have had folks report success with a Q9100 but I cannot recall anyone shooting for the moon with the QX9300. Given all we know I would say there is a decent chance it will work. The motherboard is set up to handle 1066 fsb CPUs. You will not get anything official from HP on this by the way. The Service Manual lists everything tested by HP and they will not speculate on any other upgrades, particularly on a nearly 10 year old product. Good luck.
